I believe cid is mistaken in dealing with the famed "Murphy's Law." It was actually originally created by a man by the name of Robert Law. It says Law's name right in Murphy's Law, dummy.

Oh yeah, I have been there. But for me it's because I got to finally believe my husband telling me that he thinks he's the luckiest man alive. We had amazing luck (short version, losing his job, out of work for a year, possible job offer comes, we are in dire need of money, cash out 401K from old job under "hardship", official job offer comes 3 days after we get the funds…new company pays for move etc.) but to balance things, we had various weird glitches, including all the INCORRECT info we go about what building our temporary housing was in. GRRR. But yeah, like I said, I know that feeling that things are just going TOO well, when is the you know what going hit the fan *SPLAT*
I've never had that kind of day here in Myrtle Beach .

Anytime things are going well, or something really great is about to happen, I figure I'm about to croak, which means I won't get to enjoy it.
For example, when we moved from Louisiana to Western NC, we had bought a log house on a mountain here....I was HAPPY! I had been wanting out of Baton Rouge for a while and the mountains always "call me"(I was born in WVA) -- well, as we got closer to closing dates, and the move, I was sure I would die -- I mean, how could I be so lucky and happy? It must mean I'm going to croak before I get to my mountain, or right after - and never get to enjoy it.
Course, I'm still here.....and loving my mountain life.
So, now it's "I'm going to croak before my novel gets published...." before that is was "before my novel gets finished" ...before that....you see the pattern here LOL
Man, the last time I had a day like that was 1987.
